This is a great opportunity to see Perth with the added bonus that you will be with your mates. September is a wonderful time to see the West; the climate is dry and temperate and the wildflowers are in bloom.

Commemorative Port
Produced by Highway Wines In the Swan Valley, 612 Great Northern Highway, Herne Hill, Tel: (08) 9296 4354. Highway Wines was established in 1954 by migrant Tony Bakranich, who arrived in WA as a 16-year-old in 1930. The present property produced its first wine in 1954, Tony teaching himself winemaking and also working at the Midland railway workshops in those days, and son Velko joined the business with wife Helen in 1960. Vintage Port is the most popular drop in Highway's fortified range, with all the grapes coming from the family's 10.5 hectare vineyard - which produces more than 100 tonnes of fruit each year.
Tasting Notes
Our 6 RAR Association - Western Australia Reunion - Commemorative Port, shows the classic caramel treacle colour of a tawny style. Delicious aromas of spicy fruit cake and raisins are immediate on the nose, while on the palate this fortified is luscious and intense with caramel and aged rancio flavours a direct result of blending mature and younger wines. The wood maturation of this wine enhances the developed qualities of richness and intensity. This port shows sweetness balanced by the drying sensations derived from extended ageing in oak barrels, and a lengthy and lingering spicy finish.

Please see the attached file regarding Camp Hart, this is situated just outside the town of Kulin, which is about 300 km SE from Perth, if you are travelling that way, it would be a great spot to spend a night or two after the Reunion.
